NewBeauty Test Tube - Summer 2012 Review

Hola!  I hope you all are doing FABULOUS!  I know I've been MIA; however, I'm here and that's all that matters!

I was given the opportunity to review the NewBeauty Test Tube subscription program a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it!  The first time I heard about this was almost 2 years ago from a friend.  Basically what it is, it’s a sampling program that is shipped (only US) to your home every 3 months (4 tubes a year).  The cost is $29.95 plus shipping ($8.95) and you get a Test Tube full of goodies.  You get deluxe and full-size samples (I received 3), the NewBeauty magazine, and a few other goodies.  I did a video with all the goodies that came inside; but, here's a sneak peek!

Here is my video.  The lighting is not that great because I just moved to a new house and I need to find an area where the outside light works well with the camera I have have.  I know if I use lights it makes everything look yellow so I'm still working on that.

Till next time....stay beautiful!
Please Note:  NewBeauty Test Tube was sent to me for my consideration.  Everything said is my honest opinion.

Target 2012 Beauty Bag

Hola Chicas!  I'm sure everyone and their mother has already done a post about this but I guess one more won't hurt!  I got my first Target Beauty Bag yesterday in the mail!  I missed last years because they were all out by the time I got to the website.  This year they had it on their FB page and it took forever and a day for the page to load (approx. 45mins) but it came up and I got my bag!

Bag is from SOHO.  It' super cute and perfect to fit in my bag.
Sample pack of Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes.  I've read that they're a huge hit in the UK.
Deluxe samples of Neutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser, Pantene Colore Preserve Shine Eclat Pro-Couleur Conditioner and Nieva Extended Moisture Daily Lotion.
Sample of L'OREAL's Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer.  I love this primer!  And a book of coupons!
Sorry for the crappy pictures.  I used my phone.

Well I just wanted to share with you all.  Have a great day!

***CLOSED*** Crème 93 by Yonka Paris Review & Giveaway

When I first started with makeup I never use to moisturize with anything.  It wasn't until I was in my mid 20's that I started to use moisturizer.  I've always jumped from moisturizer to moisturizer.  I really liked Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion but after a few months of use it started to leave my skin more oily than usual  I had to stop using it and now I'm using Murad's acne moisturizer and it tends to dry out my skin a bit.  This is why I didn't like using moisturizer because I couldn't find the right one or right combination; however, I was given the opportunity to try out Crème 93 by Yonka Paris.

Crème 93
with ylang-ylang and essential oils
Combination skin
Protect - Balance
This delicate, regulating cream is endowed with a seductive scent of ylang-ylang. Combats excess shine on the T-Zone, the complexion thrives with an instantly revitalized appearance, leaves the skin feeling velvety smooth, with a new fresh and even complexion. Ylang-ylang, lime and the 5 Quintessence E.O.* Use daily in the a.m. after cleansing and toning. Spread evenly over face and neck.
*Lavender, cypress, rosemary, thyme and geranium
This moisturizer is amazing!  I've used it the last few weeks and it's wonderful. The scent is very soft and not overbearing.  When applied to your skin it doesn't leave an oily residue.  It sinks right into your skin.  I'm very scared to use anything on my face because I do tend to breakout - alot!  I still use my Murad lotion, but then I add this afterwards and it keeps the dry skin from flaking.  The moisturizer has not made my skin have any additional breakouts and it's made my skin softer and smoother which is great for me. I'm not getting any younger so anything to make my skin look great gets two thumbs up!

Thanks to Vere360, a Pittsburgh Hair Salon, they will be providing one Crème 93 (retail value $50) to one of my US-based readers.

Beauty Army - January 2012

Hola Chicas!  So here's the thing.  I've become a huge beauty box sample junkie!  I think I'm signed up to almost everything that is available in the US, except for Birchbox and that's a whole different story.  I first heard of Beauty Army from Krystal and AmberAfter reading all the information I was like why not what do I have to lose?

Here is a bit of information regarding Beauty Army

"Beauty Army is a luxury beauty sample subscription service that allows you to select up to six luxury beauty samples each month from a selection of 9 for $12 a month with free shipping.  You take a a profile quiz and then you get to choose your own samples based on results of your quiz."

Did you hear that??? YOU get to pick your samples!  There is no "I hope I get a good box this month".  You choose what you want.  I thought that was super awesome!  So far so good right?  Let me show you what I got in my January box.

It comes shipped in a plain white box that has BeautyARMY all around.
Ok this box is freaking AMAZING!!  Yes I'm getting excited over a box!  It comes in a rock solid black box and the inside is adorable.  This is 10x better than Birchbox no doubt!  It has a flip up top so there's no hassle having to open it.  It comes with a welcome card.
When you open it all the products are wrapped up individually in pink tissue paper.  My battery had died after the first two pictures and I had to wait, but I couldn't wait so I opened them all!
Mama Mio
Boob Tube
3.4 fl oz - $45.00

"Aim North, not South! What women really love about Boob Tube is that the quality of their skin changes so quickly. Within a week, you will notice that the skin on your neck, your chest and your boobs looks firmer, fitter, glowing, more dewy and youthful. Daily use will maintain this beautiful skin and over the years you will be so pleased you took the time to befriend your bust.No crinkles or droop for you – no turtle necks or even turkey necks! You are so wise to daily dose with Boob Tube, feel free to thank us in 20 years."

Lord knows that as you get older you need this bad boy!  Especially for those who do have a good amount of boobies on top.  I received a 1.7 oz tube to sample and I really like this alot.  I've used it for about two weeks now and my boobs do seem a bit smoother.  I can't say firm because it's not like I'm big on top; however, I'm not sure if I would spend $45.00.

LaRocca Skincare
Lip Shield
0.27 fl oz - $16.00

"Defend against germs with LaRocca Skincare's Multi-Active Natural Lip Balm is the ultimate in lip treatments.  This balm, made with Hyaluronic Acid and Camu Camu, is specifically formulated to deeply moisturize and nourish the skin while helping in protecting against germs and bacteria.  Mangosteen Extract and Brazilian Cha de Burge provide anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.  Sea Buckthorn provides essential omega fatty acids, vitamins and minerals while amino acids aid in the process of collagen formation for softer, healthier lips."
I received this lip shield in Zinfadel and it's full size too!  That was awesome.  I haven't put this to use yet and I can't give you my opinion on it, but I will soon and maybe do a review on this.

Indie Lee
The Body Scrub
12 fl oz - $38.00

"Indie formulated this all natural scrub, to deliver a daily dose of pampered, sexy skin. The essential oils create a calming, light, lemon scent to start or end your day."
This stuff is AH-MAZING!  I received a 1.6 oz sample size and started to use this right away.  It makes your skin feel soooooo soft and smooth!  I would definitely pay the $38.00 bucks for this scrub.  The scent is very soft and not overpowering.  A little goes a long with this scrub.

MAD Skincare
Transforming Daily Moisturizer
1.7 fl oz - $54.00

"The signs of aging require multiple age fighting ingredients to get you to look your best. M.A. Dermaceuticals has combined the best nature and science has to offer to give you the youth building age minimizing performance for lasting results. A light weight multi-stem cell, multi-peptide infused complex is designed to make you look your best and return a more refreshed, healthy look to the appearance of your skin."
I received a 0.13 fl oz sample and I have not used this moisturizer as of yet.  I will use and see if it works for me maybe even do a review.

MyFace Cosmetics
Bligntone Eyeshadow (PH)
$20.00

"The icy, iconic blingtone collection from myface cosmetics is the new Hollywood obsession and boasts a break-thru formula packed with crushed pearl, not gaudy, garish glitter.  This precious jewel and metallic coloured shadow is the perfect blend of pearl and pigment. Create a wicked wash of colour and dramatic, wet-looking shine.  Blingtone eyeshadows  glide smoothly on to the eye, and won’t drop or flake."
I received a full size in Purple Haze.  I haven't used this eyeshadow as of yet.  I honestly have forgotten about it.  I will do a review on this one for sure.

SunFX
Body Wash
270 ml - $12.95

"A light, foaming, non-abrasive body wash perfect for maintaining your SunFX spray tan. The body wash combines Aloe, Chamomile and Vitamin E extracts. Relax and enjoy the subtle fragrances designed to stimulate and revitalize your spirits."

I received a 2.2 oz sample.  I was half and half on this body wash.  I've used it all up already.  The scent is soft and not over powering; however, I wish it would foam up more.  I felt like I had to put tons on my sponge in order for it to foam up.  I personally love to see my sponge all foaming and full of bubbles.  It makes me feel like the body wash is doing its job and cleaning my body.  I personally wouldn't purchase this.

All in all I really love Beauty Army and will continue my subscription each month.  Shipping was a bit slow but you do get a tracking number so your able to track your package.

I haven't made my selection yet for the month of February because I signed up around the end of January and from what I understand you choose your new sample each month on the day you signed up.  I recommend this to anyone who hasn't tried it.  It's better than Birchbox because you know whats in your box and there's no let downs when you open it.  I received two full size items and the rest of the items were "deluxe" samples and well worth it for $12 bucks!

Did you get a box?  If so, what did you pick out?

Juelp February American Beauty Box

Hola Chicas!  I've heard tons about Juelp and SissySparkles had a promo code to try it out for $5 bucks so why not right?  This is my second box.  The first box I forgot to take pictures and blog about it.  I was just so excited to get it.  I had wanted to skip the month of January because I had to take care of some other things first; however, somehow it got mixed up and a box got sent to me.  Best part is that since it was their error I got it for FREE!!

Julep Mave is a monthly box that gives you access to all the hottest trends in nail color and Mani/Pedi Care products.  It's $19.99 a month and you usually get 2 nail polishes and a Mani/Pedi item which combined are worth $40.  The products are sneak peeks never before released colors and treatments that come to us first.  When you sign up you take a style quiz and see what your style is.  I happen to be an American Beauty.

Here's what I got:

The theme for this American Beauty box was the Oscars

Packaging is very pretty on the inside.  When you open it the card is the first thing you see.
The information card just tells you what you received for that month.
Comes very well protected so nothing breaks.  Two thumbs up for awesome packaging!
I got a dark chocolate Oscars award.
  • Julep Essential Cuticle Oil - Natural blend of essential oils and Vitamin E softens rough cuticles and strengthens nails
  • Julep Nail Vernis in Glenn - Bold berry red shimmer
  • Julep Nail Vernis in Oscar - Ultra chic, multi-dimensional gold glitter
The card also comes with a beauty tip from Jane (CEO & Founder):  I love the new glitter polish trend, but it can be a little stubborn to remove.  Saturate a cotton pad with polish remover and then press the pad on the nail for a few seconds before wiping the polish off.

All in all I really like this box.  I know there are tons of beauty subscriptions out there and some cheaper; but, for the money your paying it's well worth it.  They have excellent customer service and when they email you the shipping/tracking number - it works!  No having to guess or email to see why it's not working and so forth.  You have different options to ship as well.  You can do FREE shipping (7-10 days), Priority or Express.  They do not ship Internationally; however, they do ship to Canada.

I still haven't had the chance to try out the nail polishes but they are beautiful.  I will do some swatches later this weekend to show you all 4 colors I have from Julep.  In my opinion it's worth a try at least for a month to see if you like it.  If your a beauty box junkie then you need to try this!

If you subscribe to Juelp?  If so what did you get in your box?

Till next time Stay Beautiful!!

Another Look At Born Pretty Store

Hola Chicas Lindas!!  First off I want to first thank you all for your continuous support and love towards my blog, FB page and YT!!  I know I haven't done much blogging, or done a video or really interacted on my page.  I've been getting some things together in my life or in my head really; but, looks like I'm back!  =)

This review is way overdue, but better late than never!  I've done a few other reviews for Born Pretty Store in the past where you can find here, here and here.  I was given another opportunity to review an item from their website and chose an eyeshadow palette.  The one thing that I absolutely love about Born Pretty Store is that every time you go on the website there's always something new to choose from and makes it more exciting when surfing through their website!

I choose this palette (there are two other palettes with different e/s colors) - 15 Color Eyeshadow Makeup Palette #3004 07

This is how the front and back of the palette look.

Inside of palette.
The palette is a good size.  The size is comparable to a BH Cosmetics Palette.  It comes with 15 eyeshadows.  It has a mirror on the inside cover of the palette.  The palette has a hard plastic cover all over.  It's sturdy and doesn't feel "cheap" like it's about to break.  The price for the palette is $19.50; however, if you buy more the one the price goes down.  Still not a bad price.  The size of the e/s is about 1 1/2 MAC refill e/s pans.

Here are the swatches:
(All were swatched on bare skin, no primer/base was used)

Row 1:  01 - 05 (Left to Right)

Row 2:  06 - 10 (Left to Right)

Row 3:  11 - 15 (Left to Right)

The e/s are super silky and soft!  They are very pigmented and it doesn't take much effort to get color on your brush.  I honestly didn't have any problems with these e/s to work for me.  I did notice that some of the darker colors are a bit hard to come off but it's no biggie.  I've been having fun playing around with these e/s.  My favorite one is #14!!  It's this amazing purple/blue color and oh man it just "shines" when you apply it!

Shipping is always FREE when you order; however, I would rather pay the shipping cost because I don't have much patients to wait, but that's just me.  I also want to mention that items are wrapped up awesome!!  I had to use a chainsaw just to unwrap this palette (kidding)!!

I did a couple of looks using this palette:

Sorry this one was taken with my camera in on my phone so it's not a great pic.

In all honesty I really like this store and I would recommend this palette to anyone.  If you like to do nails, hair, makeup, piercings, etc.  They pretty much got something in their store for you.  If you decide to get something use my code for 10% off:

Stay tuned I will be having a giveaway that will be sponsored by Born Pretty Store!  Details to come later.

Till next time....Stay Beautiful!!

Please Note:  I did receive item for free for my consideration.  All information above is my honest opinion. I did not get paid to do this post.
